I love electives. It is such a great opportunity for kids to discover new things, go deeper in a hobby or develop a new hobby. Electives can be sports, second language, landscaping, art and so much more. The possibilities are endless. Below are some that we have discovered - click on the curriculum title to learn more.
High School Electives - CLE - There are about 15 elective options for high school on this page - ranging from Accounting to Horticulture. There are also some remedial English courses listed on this page. We will certainly be using some of these as my children get older and develop different interests that they want to pursue.
Psychology - There are three high school psychology programs that I would recomment. The first is Homeschool Psych. 7 Sisters has a good one also. Lastly, Sonlight has an AP course.
Film Making - From the author - Filmmaking from the First Directors teaches the basics of filmmaking and early film history. It takes students through a unique journey starting in the late 19th century when film was invented, then guides them through the steps first directors took in creating the modern language of film. Each lesson includes watching a series of lectures on history and production basics then viewing original films. Assignments will include making a variety of short films which will be uploaded for class comments and review. The goal of the class is to teach students how to make films one step at a time.
Latin - Visual Latin - A favorite in our house. From the author -

He’s one of those unique teachers who makes learning difficult subjects fun and enjoyable. Thousands of children have already been transformed through his magic: let yours be next.
